Sunday Hike, Sunday, June 7

Get out and enjoy the trail in early summer on Sunday, June 7. For this hike, we will meet at the Obey Interpretive Center at the Chippewa Moraine at 1 PM. The hike we’ve planned includes two of our newest trail segments, between County Highway E and Deer Fly Trail. You may wish to hike one way (about 3.5 miles) or round trip. Tony Schuster will keep us stepping high and on track. Bring a snack and water, and your preferred insect strategy. You don’t need to register for the hike, but if you plan on coming, drop a note so we know who to watch for (and if you have questions).

Trail Improvement Day, Saturday June 13

Our next trail improvement celebration is planned for Saturday, June 13. We are currently evaluating exactly which projects will get top priority this month, but there will be variety as always!

Please plan to meet at the Obey Interpretive Center at the Chippewa Moraine at 9:00 AM. Dress appropriately for the weather, plan to experience ticks (wear long socks to tuck in your pants), and mosquitos.  Sturdy shoes, long pants and shirt, and work gloves are the order of the day. Bring your Wellies (knee-high rubber boots)! Bring water and lunch if you can stay for the afternoon.

Please let us know if you plan to attend, so we can have adequate tools and plan our logistics, making your time well spent. Just send an email to chapter@iatchippewa.org.
