Trail Improvement Day – This Saturday, May 16

The weather’s shaping up for a great day to work on the trail this Saturday. We’ll pass through an area recently logged and clean up assorted logging debris, repair trail damage, and give the trail some TLC.

Join us at 9:30 AM at the Chippewa Moraine Visitor Center, and we’ll go together to the work location. Wear work boots, bring gloves. Bring water and lunch/snack.

We’ll work till mid afternoon, but whatever time you can spare is appreciated.

PLEASE RSVP for this work day, so we can plan appropriate tools, etc. When you rsvp, please indicate how long you hope to stay.

Chapter Meeting Monday Features Parks-Mattot Hike Program

A year ago JoAnn Parks and Dawn Mattot completed the IANST, and being a map specialist, JoAnn has not only pictures, but the maps to prove it. They’ll share the trip and some map-sense with us at our chapter meeting at 6 PM  Monday, May 18 at the Chippewa Falls Public Library (Please note the time).

Following the presentation, we’ll still have time to conduct some business, including our upcoming event and maintenance plans, and you’ll be on your way!

Ice Age Trail Alliance Is Our New Name

Foundation members received a mailing recently which included the notice of the Annual Member Meeting, the Bylaw changes proposed, and the list of Directors to be voted on. If you approve of all the changes and directors, please sign and return the form. If you object to one or more items, identify above your signature the proposals you wish your vote to be cast against. If you wish to designate a different person to vote on your behalf, change the name of the person appointed and send the form to the IAPTF office (you should also provide a copy of the form with your instructions to the person you designate). (Note that family memberships are granted one vote for the family.)

Regional Meeting – Wednesday, May 20

We’ll meet with a mix of chapter leaders and members from the northwest area and IATA staff to learn what’s in store and compare notes. We will meet at the Wren Café in Luck, at 6:30 PM.

If you missed the Annual Conference, you might want to attend. If you were at the conference, come to find out more! One topic to be explored is a regional Alliance-sponsored event, probably in our area, in the fall.

If you’re interested, contact Richard (chapter@iatchippewa.org or 715 967-2164).
