Chapter Annual Meeting - Monday, January 19

Let your thoughts sail to stunning New Zealand and join Bev & Kevin Steljes on a 32 mile trek along the Routeburn Track at our chapter’s Annual Meeting. We’ll meet at 6 PM on Monday, Jan. 19 at the Chippewa Falls Public Library.

Bev and Kevin backpacked along the trail as it passes through Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks. Both are part of Te Wahipounamu - South West New Zealand World Heritage Site. They collected images of the well-known South Island Scenery along the way, which will illustrate their talk.

Afterwards, we’ll elect officers, adopt a budget, and conduct other annual meeting business items.

First Aid Training - Saturday, Feb. 28

In order to operate machinery such as chain saws or mowers, or be a project leader, IAPTF requires that our volunteers hold current certificates in First Aid, CPR, and AED. While not everyone has to be certified, it is a good idea for us to have several people with these skills on our work days or hikes.

We’ve arranged with the Red Cross for a day of training on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Chippewa Falls City Hall/Fire Station. The class will run from 9 AM to 4 PM. You’ll need to bring a bag lunch to eat at mid-day. Members of IAPTF will not be charged for this class, which is an extraordinary deal. If you are not a member, this is a great reason to join so you can take advantage of this opportunity.

You must register to take the class. Please register by Feb. 20. Click here for registration information.
